Weekend

The weekend was really wonderful. Friday is Johnny's day off & we slept in as long as our four year old would permit. Then Noah lured us all in to singing & playing for a while. Love mornings like that. Lazy, making breakfast, singing, playing, and now enjoying two little ones.  Check out my sweet girls Rosy cheeks. I put lotion on them all the time, but sometimes they are just so rosy. We have been calling her Rose more lately.

Sunday we spent the whole day outside after church. Enjoying the beautiful Texas weather. Johnny built us a table for the back porch area. I'm so excited about it! Seriously my hubby never fails to surprise me. He whipped that table up in about 35 minutes. The best part is we didn't spend one dime to make it. The wood was free & the legs we already had from a previous smaller table we used at our home in Longview. We still need to sand it down a bit & seal it but woohoo outdoor living again.
Restful & joyful weekends with my family are truly what I value in life. They are so good for the soul. Prepare you for the busy of the week ahead. Hope everyone had a great weekend too.

High Five for Friday

High Five for Friday. Some things I'm looking forward to this weekend...
1) Ready for a repeat of sweet snuggles like this on Sunday afternoon.
2) Thank the Lord for an empty weekend schedule with my sweet man!
3) Already planning a Friday Ice Cream date for snickers ice cream, yum!
4) Perhaps more window shopping & room planning for our little girl :)
5) More backyard playtime & water time to be had with our little family.
Happy Friday!

The Weekend.

This weekend was the super bowl.
The worship team had a little party
the crazy smile bc Noah asked me to be silly.
I smuggled these in my purse, just in case. (not a big sports fan)
Actually didn't need them. Noah kept me way too busy running after him.
Johnny made me a desktop, shelves, and painted my closet office.
I found some super cute office storage things here & today have been working on putting it together. Lots to do still.
Oh my sweet man also built this!!! A new table for Noahs room.
I LOVE IT! He made it entirely from scrap wood & recycled pieces.
Poor Noah, his room was in the process of getting a remodel at the same time that I found myself heading to the doctor several times a week for a month. This means his little room will have to wait a bit to be decorated. (visiting the doctor is expensive w/o medical insurance - just saying)
This weekend we did a lot of painting. Like a whole lot.
Noah wanted in on the fun too so I threw out a table cloth & we had fun!
After about 25 minutes painting pictures quickly turned to painting himself!
Which inevitably resulted in a bath pretty quickly. ha.
We always have such a good time painting together.
My little painting.
Hope you had a great weekend friends!
What was the highlight of your weekend?

Is it So?

Could it be?
Is it here?
Has the time arrived?

I think. maybe. possibly. at least for a few days... YES! Yes, it is happening. Fall has arrived for a few days in Texas! Around here we have been soaking it in as much as possible.

Very excited to walk around outside
in long sleeves & jeans!!
Loved laying in the hammock all weekend letting Noah play in the yard while I scripture doodled.
I fell in love with so many verses in the word this weekend.
For me, I feel so much closer to the Lord outside.
Anyone else feel this way too?
Made some sour cream enchiladas this weekend.
They were yummy!
We played lots of music together...

and then we had a family coffee date!

This weekend was so fun! We loved relaxing in the cool air outside. I can't wait to pull out the scarfs, boots, and jackets... we aren't quite there yet but look forward to wearing all of those soon. What was your weekend like?
Hope you got to enjoy the cooler air out this weekend!
Happy Monday!

House Full of Friends & Laughs

Our week has been full of friends & loved ones floating in & out of our home. We are loving it and enjoying every minute of it! This is why I have not been around much the last week. At this moment I'm sitting on the back porch enjoying coffee & cookies at midnight with one of my best friends Kayla.
I absolutely LOVE this girl! She is one of those people that just gets me & always has. About 3 years ago God totally brought her into my life at the right time & I'm so thankful. We haven't seen each other for months but you would never know it, its always like we just saw each other yesterday. So I'm loving having her in our home & sharing testimonies from our trip to Haiti & her recent trip to Honduras where she ministered & served in crusades. Kayla is leaving in the morning to head back to SAGU, but we are going to see her next week in Dallas for a concert we are going to!

My brother Robert Kyle & his lovely lady Haleigh (who is the SWEETEST THING EVER) came to stay with us for the weekend. Oh my, we really enjoyed them being here. This girl is a hoot! It was so nice to let the guys hang out & just sit on the couch with Haleigh and chat for hours.
Noah being silly, ha! Noah loves both of these people just as much as Johnny & I. It is sad because he keeps asking for "Hawee & RobKyle" over & over, breaks my heart. We had such a fun weekend of thrifting, eating, drinking coffee, watching a movie, church, and just hanging out together. I'm so glad that they came to visit. I'm looking forward to seeing them again soon hopefully!

Oh my, this week has been so full & it is still going strong. So thankful for the last two weeks of family & friends. To top it off another one of my really good friends, Jane, just moved about 40 minutes from us. Looking forward to seeing her soon!

How is your week???
Hope your having a lovely Wednesday!

Friends

In life there are those friends that you may not talk to all the time or get to see as much as you would like, but when you get together it is like you pick up right where you left off. We had some sweet friends like this come stay with us last weekend. We really had a blast doing a whole-lotta nothing together.

Zack, Leann, and I actually all attended the same youth group growing up but I really became good friends with them about 5 years ago. I am thankful. Zach & Johnny crack their wives up with their silliness and man love for each other. Men need friendships just as much as their wives do. They need each other to hold them accountable in serving the Lord, being a loving husband, and a great father. Women encourage your man to have relationships with good Christian men. Trust me, it is needed and you will benefit.

(Check out the two cute little blonde boys at Starbucks)

We enjoyed relaxing, napping, grilling, playing in the back yard, shopping, and Starbucks. It was nice having Zach, Leann, & Brody in church with us on Sunday. Already looking forward to their next visit.
