The Shop, Take a Look

This week has been great but busy. Lately I have been having so much fun creating lovely pieces of jewelry that I just put in my shop. Most of the items in the shop now seem to have a theme of being pretty & dainty. Which makes these pieces wonderful to wear! Every piece in my shop is handmade by me. Click HERE to visit
The Happy Times Shop and see what I have been up to.
Let me show you a few of my favorite pieces that I LOVE!

The Bird Nest Necklaces are one of my favorites. I love these necklaces. I made myself one in cream & turquoise and wear them all the time. For me the necklace represents my little family. They are wrapped in antique bronze wire.
For more details on this piece & many others check out the Shop.

I'm excited because Etsy now has the option for buyers, who don't have an Etsy account, to make a direct purchase without going through paypal. Often when I shop on Etsy I would much rather use this option, glad that I can now!

I've had such a wonderful time creating these pieces and hope you will take a look around the shop.

A Whole Lotta Week

Hey Friends. This week has been a weird one. Ever had one of those weeks that just feels off & not quite right? Well, this was that week. I got home from visiting family on Saturday last week & Sunday morning woke up feeling horrible and stayed in bed most of that day. Monday I did throw my hair in a bun & drugged myself up on Dayquil to have coffee with some sweet ladies. So glad I did that! I also made a few pieces of jewelry for my etsy shop. Can't wait to share more pictures of more lovely pieces to come!
Tuesday came & I think the bed pretty much held me hostage all day. During that time I may or may not have watched Bridget Jones Diary & ate Tai Pei (just for the noodles) in bed. For some odd reason the only thing that sounded good to me was chocolate chip cookies & lo mein. (nope not preggo) I love this movie but I always fall asleep while watching it. So it was the perfect remedy considering I had a hard time falling asleep on my own.

Wednesday came & I still felt bad but nothing like Tuesday. Went grocery shopping & even managed to make baked potatoes in the crockpot (so easy, who knew??) Pinterest convinced me to wrap potatoes in foil and leave them in the slow cooker for 4 hours providing me with easy dinner, cleanup, and a cool house before church.

My boys built a fort this week & this is the primary place Noah has been this week. So cute. Thursday my house finally got cleaned & I'm not gonna lie the television was totally my child's babysitter that day. I make an effort to not allow him to watch tv too often while at home, but Thursday was food pantry & we were having friends over for dinner and I needed some free child care. Thanks Little Bill & Little Bear.

Our church has an incredible food pantry program for members of the community who need some help with groceries once a month. There are some amazing people who serve & run the food pantry at our church. Johnny & I were really excited to get involved when we first moved here but to be honest I quit going after the first few months we were here. I don't have anyone to watch Noah & it is impossible to be of any help to them so I stopped going. I was totally in the way more than I was helping. Our college small group & Johnny are faithful in serving on Thursdays so I always am a little jealous not to be there. So, I have decided that I may not be able to actually help, but I enjoy going for the service & worship so from now on Noah & I will there for that. Perhaps as Noah gets older it may become possible for me to help. Plus Noah enjoyed watching his daddy lead worship.

Today has been pretty go thus far.Had lunch with a good friend & went shopping for curtains. Hope your Friday is going well. See ya soon!

For Me, the Bangles & the Bracelets

Lately, I am careful to not get stuck in a rut, because I seem to easily fall into them, with God & His word. I have the tendency to pursue Him with reckless abandonment for a few months and then life gets in my way and I get too busy. A few days go by and all the sudden it is Monday, and I haven't opened my Bible since Thursday.. how did that happen? Then I start feeling "blah" & frustrated with myself. You know the feeling, don't act like ya don't.

This morning on my drive home from the gym I was telling the Lord, that I was sorry for not spending more time with Him. Sharing how I felt guilty for not opening the word & being mindful about setting aside a certain time to stop what I'm doing to be with Him this last week. Guess what, God doesn't want or need my pity. He never guilts me into spending time with him, so if I feel guilty it is actually conviction. Ouch. Kinda hurt a little bit.
So this morning I am thankful. Thankful for conviction. Thankful for brokenness.
If it wasn't for my brokenness I am not sure where I would be at in life or with the Lord. I am thankful that I had to go through some brokenhearted times to get closer to the Lord. Now, I'm thankful that my relationship with the Lord is where it needs to be. So that when I am not spending quality time with Him, my life shows it. My attitude shows it. I am thankful. I blessed because of the brokenness.
I know that everything is God's. Everything.

A few weeks ago I shared how God has been dealing with me to give over three areas of my life. There is a beautiful song by Audrey Assad called, Everything is Yours.
A verse from the song resonated with me so much that I decided to write it out in my room." If everything is Yours ... God, I'm letting it go. It was never mine to hold." Sometimes I fall short & think that my life is my own, when it is actually the Lords. The scripture verse I used is from Jeremiah 29:13 "If you look for me wholeheartedly, you will find me."

I made a jewelry stand to hold my bangles & bracelets, stud earrings & rings, and a few pairs of earrings because I was running out of room on my jewelry frame. Now every morning when I'm getting ready for the day, I can be reminded of God's promise that if I pursue Him, I will find Him. I made the promise to give everything over to the Lord & not to secretly still worry over things. Sometime this week I will post a tutorial.

Hope your enjoying your Monday.
