Homemade Oatmeal Cream Pies. Keep scrolling for recipe!
The last few days we have enjoyed celebrating the season together as a little family. Johnny & I both come from families that have traditions for Christmas, so we have enjoyed making our own Christmas traditions as a family.
Since we have been married Johnny & I have enjoyed making handmade gifts & treats for family and friends. It is always something we look forward to doing together. This year Noah really enjoyed helpings us. Noah helped roll out the dough for mini buttermilk pies. I gave him a fork and he even went around the edges to make a design. He was so proud of him self.
He LOVED it! We also enjoyed making blueberry pancakes.
The mini pies cooked & cooling off.
Honestly, I kinda forgot to take pictures of most of the house decorated for Christmas. But I did snap a few picture of the kitchen & family room area.
Maybe I'll find time to snap a few more later to share of the rest of the house decorated. I decorate in nearly every room, I mean its Christmas time how can I not!?
Oh my, I also made these homemade Oatmeal Cream Pies from BHG. I've never made these before & was very happy about how yummy they are! If you make this recipe, dont use the filling they suggest. It is horrible. I made the filling at first, but after tasting it threw the whole batch of it out & made a buttercream filling instead! Much Better!
Making mini pies & oatmeal cream pies are 2 new traditions added to our list.
The next day we grabbed breakfast at one of our favorite places & then that night visited a local shop that has trails with Christmas lights. We have been having such a great time celebrating lately.
Saturday night we delivered our oatmeal cream pies & mini buttermilk pies! Merry Christmas Friends!
